Pricing Guidelines

Pricing can be tricky – here are some thoughts to keep in mind.

• Above all – PRICE TO SELL! There’s nothing more rewarding than cleaning out your closets AND making money at the same time!
• Let things go for HALF-PRICE! It’s better to earn 50% than to get items back that you don’t need. And don’t forget – if you plan to donate your unsold items, make sure to let them go for half-price!
• A good rule-of-thumb is to price your items about 1/3 of retail unless they are new or hardly used, in which case you can price closer to ½ of retail. This varies according to the brand and condition of your item.

Here are some guidelines to help you out.

CLOTHING

Tops

• Play Shirts: $1-$4
• Nicer Shirts: $3-$7
• Dress Shirts $4-$8
• Jackets: $4-$8
• Coats: $6 – $15

Bottoms

• Capris: $2-$8
• Jeans: $4-$8
• Pants: $3-$7
• Skirts: $3-$7

Dresses

• Casual Dresses: $4-$8
• Nicer Dresses: $5-$12

Sleepwear

• 2 or 3 piece PJ sets: $3-$6
• Sleepers: $2-$6
• Nightgowns: $2-$5

These are only examples for your more common brands such as Carters, GAP, Old Navy, Osh Kosh, Gymboree, etc. Boutique and European brands such as Oilily, Mis Tee V Us, Baby Lulu, Hartstrings, etc. are priced a little higher

• Pack n Plays: $15-$50

FEEDING

• Travel Systems (stroller, carseat, base): $75-$125
